Help for Mom and Dad2010-07-125 / 5
This little book tells it like it is. It's a great help for mom and dad, and a fun book for the little boy.
This book is fabulous!2010-05-275 / 5
My two year old son is just starting potty training. He's doing very well but I wanted a book to help explain some of the concepts in a way that he could understand. This book completely fit the bill. My son talks about Michael (the boy in the book) all the time and we read the book whenever he is on the potty. When he successfully goes potty, he says he's like Michael. Now all I have to do is ask if he wants to go potty like Michael and he happily goes. It's a very well-written book and my son just connects with it. Thank you so much Ms. Cole for writing this book and Ms. Chambliss for illustrating it. Now, if you could only write a book about Michael letting his mommy brush his teeth without resistance, we'd be all set!
Great book!2010-01-145 / 5
Great book, my son loves reading it over and over again and pointing out the potty!
Exactly what I was looking for! Descriptive, easy to understand!2009-12-285 / 5
I purchased several potty training books through for our 2-year-old, and this was the book that ended up being exactly what I was looking for. It's descriptive of the process in the right level of detail, entertaining and interesting to him, and it's clear to me that he's beginning to understand what we're describing to him. Highly recommended.
great potty learning book2009-10-255 / 5
We really like this book. Our son is 10 months old and we have been working on early potty training for about a month now. This book, along with his bath toys, keep him on the potty long enough to go. So far, he is peeing in the potty regularly, and we have "Michael" to thank for keeping him there long enough to figure it out. I disagree with those who say the book is too descriptive. At least for us, it exactly describes what our son does on the potty and in his day- diaper changes on the changing table, sitting on the potty with toys and books, having mommy and daddy in the bathroom with him, trying out "big boy" training pants, rocking in the chair with mommy, dumping the potty in the toilet and flushing, washing hands, etc. Sometimes we read the whole book, and other times we just let him open it up to a page he likes and we talk about it. Our son reaches for this book as soon as he sits down on the potty and starts smiling. The only thing I would take a bit of issue with is that they show Michael standing up and using the potty. At least with our early training, that is pretty far off. I am not sure if he learned it from the book or from dad, but we have had a few messy incidents where he has stood up in the bathroom and peed on the floor (or my leg!). It isn't really a drawback, but I would also point out that this book is large- about a foot high and wide- much larger than most board books. I highly recommend this book.
