I have had my Clarisonic for a year and a half. In no time, my skin was showing improvement and I had to use fewer products to keep my skin clear. I have had clogged pores such as closed comedones (genetic per my derm) my entire life. The keratin in my cells just won't shed easily causing those little bumps. Once in a while I would get a cyst, but no matter what I did, I could never have decent skin unless I was on meds from the derm.
I did try all the typical products, scrubs, cleansers, Stridex...you name it. Nothing compares to this. I have to presume that the sonic action of it jiggles out the oil to normalize it and therefore the cells aren't sticky and thus, less clogging. That's my assessment, anyway, bc nothing else has worked for me all these years (expect for Rx meds which I don't want to be on my entire life).
Now people that never have clogged pores or acne might not see that big of a difference. It may just feel better and increase circulation...but for me...it's made a 180 degree turnaround in my clogged pores.
This changed my skin 99% improvement. In fact, I bought one for my daughter who now swears she will never be without it. I did an experiment and went off the Clarisonic for almost two months. It was very obvious and I am using it again daily with my Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash. A gel type cleanser is best for this unit and you don't need to buy expensive ones either. My cleanser is less than $5.
At first I had some purging and sometimes it looked like I had mosquito bites, that was the old stuff coming to the surface. I also started out with the delicate brush head, then the gentle and finally the normal. You need to use a fair amount of the cleanser, the gel type helps it glide over the skin easily, and avoid the eye area. You don't need to use any pressure, just let it glide across your skin.
If I didn't haev this, I'd end up spending bucks at the derm - so I'm extremely pleased! If you ever tried Sonicare toothbrushes, this is the same idea but for your face. A *huge* improvement in quality of skin care.
Cleaning the Brush Heads: I filled a bottle with rubbing alcohol and after rinsing the brush head under running water and vibrating off the excess, then I spritz the brush head with the alcohol, shake it off a bit and then store it. (I tried using bleach to disinfect, but it was harsh on the bristles and broke them down). |

Words cannot express how much I love my Clarisonic. Or should I say Clarisonic(s) as I now have two. It has absolutely changed my skin from perpetually clogged, sensitive, acne prone and dull to bright, fresh and clean looking. It is such a pleasure to use, unlike most exfoiliating facial scrubs. I have had it for two years now and rarely need to wear makeup.
Don't get me wrong-it doesn't do all the work. I still get the occasional facial, I don't smoke, rarely drink, and religiously apply sunscreen, but consider this an invaluable part of my regime for looking and feeling good.
It is especially versatile now that the spot treatment brush can be used for the body and really rarely needs to be charged (every 3 weeks maybe?)
I wouldn't even hesitate-this baby is worth every penny. |
